Practical Skills for a Better Life Together

Personalised training designed to develop useful everyday skills, improve communication and help you guide your dog with greater clarity and confidence.

Every training process begins with an initial assessment so I can understand your dog, your family’s goals and the areas that need support.

Training Designed for Real Life

Training takes place where the skills are actually needed: at home, during walks, in parks or in other environments relevant to your dog and family.

Walking and Lead Skills

We will work on practical techniques to create more organised walks, improve your dog’s attention and reduce pulling on the lead.

Recall and Managing Distractions

Your dog will learn to respond to their name and recall cue while maintaining a stronger connection with you in different situations.

Self-Control and Everyday Skills

We can practise waiting, staying in a designated place, releasing objects, leaving items and responding more calmly.

Play, Communication and Learning

You will learn how to use play and training to communicate clearly, strengthen your relationship and make learning easier.

Personalised Goals

The plan can also include specific skills or behaviours that you would like to teach, improve or work on according to your everyday needs.

Is This Service Right for You?

Practical dog training is designed for families who want to develop useful skills and improve communication with their dog.
It may be a good option if your dog:

Pulls on the lead during walks.

Does not respond reliably to recall.

Becomes easily distracted.

Finds it difficult to wait or manage impulses.

Needs to learn basic everyday skills.

Needs better manners at home or during walks.

Needs to practise around different distractions.

Knows some skills but struggles to use them in real situations.

Requires a plan adapted to the family’s specific goals.

Dogs experiencing intense fear, anxiety, reactivity, aggression or other behavioural concerns should begin with a personalised behaviour consultation.

How Does It Work?

1. Initial Assessment

The initial assessment is required before training sessions can begin.

I will observe your dog’s home environment, routine, current skills and relationship with the family.

We will also discuss what you would like to teach, improve or change.

2. Personalised Training Plan

After the assessment, I will create a training plan organised around your priorities, your dog’s needs and your family’s goals.

The number of sessions will depend on the goals, your dog’s progress and the practice completed at home.

3. Training in Real-Life Situations

Sessions may take place at home, during walks, in parks or in other suitable environments, depending on the skill we are working on.

You will receive practical exercises and homework to complete between sessions. The family’s consistency and participation are essential parts of the process.
