This course will help you observe your dog’s schedule and signals, organise a routine, and teach the correct place with positive reinforcement. It is designed especially for puppies, but it can also be used with dogs of other ages.

RECOMMENDED ROUTE

Learning to go outside

This is the best option when your dog’s health, safety and routine allow outdoor trips. You will learn how to organise the trips and reward your dog at the correct moment.

Learning in an indoor area

This route can be used when going outside is not possible yet or when the family needs an indoor toilet area. The place should be clear, stable and easy for the dog to recognise.

Observe

Identify your dog’s schedule, signals and the moments when your dog will probably need to go potty.

Prepare the area, create a routine for your family and improve supervision inside the home.

Practise

Complete short exercises, record the progress and adjust the plan according to your dog’s needs.

Course Content

Module 1: Before You Begin
Comprende cómo funciona el curso, conoce las dos rutas disponibles y prepara el proceso de aprendizaje de tu perro antes de comenzar. Aunque podrás trabajar con un espacio interior cuando sea necesario, enseñarle a ir al baño afuera será siempre la ruta recomendada cuando sea seguro y posible.

Module 2: Week 1 – Observe and Understand Your Dog’s Routine
Durante esta semana observarás los horarios, señales y momentos clave de tu perro. Esta información te permitirá crear una rutina basada en sus necesidades reales, en lugar de utilizar un horario general.

Module 3: Week 2 – Teach Your Dog the Right Place
Durante esta semana ayudarás a tu perro a reconocer el lugar elegido mediante una ruta clara, repetición y premios entregados inmediatamente después de hacerlo correctamente. El baño afuera continúa siendo la opción recomendada cuando sea seguro y posible.

Module 4: Week 3 – Prevent and Manage Accidents
Durante esta semana organizarás la supervisión y el espacio para reducir las oportunidades de error. También aprenderás cómo actuar y limpiar cuando ocurra un accidente, sin castigar al perro.

Module 5: Week 4 – Increase Your Dog’s Independence
Durante esta semana ajustarás los horarios con la información registrada y aumentarás la libertad de tu perro de forma gradual. También adaptarás el plan a su edad, salud, movilidad y necesidades.
